WeStrive-Think OutWord Essay Challenge: I Give You My Word

WeStrive and Think OutWord are pleased to announce a unique opportunity for community network members to win a package reward that includes a plane ticket* and attendance to Think OutWord’s conference with Orland Bishop from February 12-14th. The conference theme is I Give You My Word: an exploration into the nature of Agreements - to oneself, to another, and to the world.

Think OutWord is a peer-led training in social threefolding for young adults that began in 2008 and is loosely situated in the northeastern United States. It is grounded in, though not limited to, an understanding of the threefold nature of the human being and of society, primarily as it was articulated by the early 20th century philosopher, Rudolf Steiner. Through the training, participants gain deeper insight into contemporary social phenomena and explore different methods by which they can become increasingly engaged in socially transformative world.

Join in a dialogue around agreements, by submitting an essay of 750-1,000 words (in English) to info@westrive.org in .doc, .rtf or .txt format by January 25, 2010 that addresses the following question:

Every kind of social form - be it an organization, community or nation - is based on agreements that individuals make together through the power of the Word. Today, many of these forms are sick because our agreements are false and our word is untrue. How can the Word, as it lives in all of us, be redeemed?
