We have an excellent opportunity for a Director of Development. This position will oversee and coordinate all development and fundraising efforts to complement the on-going school activities within the next five through seven years. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, dynamic professional known for integrity, flexibility and energy. This person understands the importance of Waldorf education, and the need to interweave arts into academics with the goal of teaching the whole child.
Our first major project is to secure funding for an Early Childhood building. A site has been purchased and the design phase has begun; building is expected to begin construction in Fall 2010. We are excited about our future!
Our school is located in the beautiful small city of Ithaca, New York, located in the Finger Lakes region of New York at the southern most end of Cayuga Lake. Surrounded by natural beauty, it is characterized by forested hills, deep gorges, and spectacular waterfalls. Home to Cornell University and Ithaca College, Ithaca has traditionally attracted musicians, artisans, and academics providing for a rich and varied cultural life.
Responsibilities include developing campaign plans, managing the campaign budget, overseeing prospective donor development, leading the development committee, and supervising, motivating, and training staff.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and five years or more of experience in a senior development position. A passion for Waldorf Education is ideal.
Salary is commensurate with experience. Health benefits, professional development funds, and tuition assistance are also available.
